Control Last.FM with apple remote and your cellphone.
My project this weekend was to enable Last.FM control with Apple Remote and the mobile phone.
Maybe you have the same problem out there. I often uses my computer as a jukebox with last.fm on, but I wanted to control it without getting up from the couch. I want to use my mobile phone and sometimes the apple remote.
To get this to work, I used two nice pieces of Software that I use for several other remote-stuff:
- Salling Clicker - A great remote control program for mobile phones. (Shareware)
- iRedLite - A great program to take apple remote one step further (freeware).
I made some Applescripting and created two configuration files for these two programs. You may download them below.
The script for Salling Clicker will be fully functional without configuration. The script uses the Last.FM-application that needs to be located in the “/Applications” folder.
Features of the Salling Clicker script:
-The Last.FM application will start with the script.
-Enter Artist or Tag-information directly in your mobile. (Arrow up for Artist and Arrow down for Tagg)
-Start/Stop
The iRedLite script will need some more work. This image may help you with the configuration. First you import my script, then you have to create the application layer by yourself. After creating the layer, you select the “play/pause”-button and connects it with my play/pause script etc.
Features of the iRedLite script:
-Start/Stop
-Next
Download the scripts below:

Good luck!
